Since Grand Designs aired in October 2014, there has been non-stop action here at Studio Bark. The team has grown to welcome another director Nick Newman, as well as architectural designers Sarah Bland and Stephane Chadwick. At the beginning of 2015, we opened a studio along the Lea River in Hackney Wick and are currently growing our portfolio of contemporary private homes and have even branched out into new build restaurants, a pumping station, a traditional barn, as well as an unusual commission for a zero-carbon deep-diving centre, all based upon our founding ethos of inspiring yet affordable environmental design.
We will also continue to work on our social enterprise initiative with The University of East London through the RIBA-accredited ‘live-build’ module, allowing students to gain valuable professional and on-site construction experience.
Thanks to everyone who has supported us along the way; it was great to see so many of you last night at our newly (and painstakingly) refurbished Autumn Yard studio. We can’t wait for the summer sun and the reincarnation of the infamous Friday Yardecues!
