Jonathan Tuckey Design has shared plans for a multi-functional outdoor shelter for a small nursery, Bower Busy Bees, in the North Highlands of Scotland.
The design utilises our U-Build system to form the shelter’s rigid frame, internal partitions, furniture and storage. U-Build was chosen for its simplicity in construction which would allow the local community to participate and take ownership in the assembly of the structure. It also allows for a minimal and low impact proposal which sits sensitively in and around the trees of the forest it is situated by.
The ground floor features a playroom with a central wood-burning stove, whilst the first floor will function as a resting and reading space.
It was great to see the proposal featured in the Architect’s Journal, and we are very excited to see how it progresses!
