‘Unit 0’ lives on as self-organised Collective

22nd October: RIBA Future Architects: Zero Carbon, Zero Tolerance, Zero Bull****

Last year Studio Bark ran Unit 0, an MArch Architecture unit at UEL. Our social and environmentally conceived brief challenged our students to really think about their roles as future architects and their agency to challenge the ‘business as usual’ approach. Needless to say, we’re incredibly proud that the legacy of Unit 0 lives on as our former students, some of whom have now graduated, continue to operate as an independent collective. They are an outspoken group with some incredibly pertinent things to say.

Following off the back off their RIBA Instagram takeover, RIBA has invited Unit 0 to host the very first Future Architects Discuss event. We’re looking forward to joining our former students to discuss the planet, equality and inclusion.

The group, who continue to operate under the name Unit Zero are Nuriyah Malik, Wadzanai Chanel, Sahar Pathan and Nibedita Gautam. We hope they continue to find platforms to have their voices heard.
