TRADA (the Timber Research and Development Association) has written an article on NBAU (No Building As Usual), discussing the programme and their role in supporting it. The article includes feedback from the students as well as from members of the Studio Bark Team.
During week 4 of NBAU, Lewis Taylor from TRADA delivered a cladding workshop, giving students an introduction to timber, and the variables to consider when specifying, designing and using timber for cladding. During the workshop, prototype cladding models were produced as a collaborative exercise, employing aesthetic and technical considerations when working with timber.
