The idyllic setting sits surrounded by the rolling countryside of Herefordshire with dramatic views of the Wye Valley to the west. The proposal is for a 3 bedroom, accessible, eco-home. We believe accessibility should not compromise design and we hope to demonstrate this with the Nest House.
The site proposal includes a domestic orchard, as well as a solar PV array and a considered landscape design. Careful consideration has been given to ensure there is minimal impact on the natural environment as well as local infrastructure and visual presence of the proposed dwelling.
“We first approached Studio Bark over three years ago. The local planning agents we had contacted assured us we would not get planning on our agricultural land in a Herefordshire hamlet. We had seen a feature about Studio Bark in “Grand Designs” Magazine. And we wanted an “Eco” style house suited to my specific needs as a disabled person. They certainly seemed to have the expertise we needed. They did not disappoint us! After an initial visit from Wilf Meynell, Studio Bark produced some initial designs, one of which was exactly in line with our ideas.
This concept was expanded and developed and finally taken to the Herefordshire Planning Committee last March. With Wilf’s support it was approved unanimously. We have found working with Studio Bark a vibrant and positive experience. They clearly defined the costings at the outset enabling us to plan our budget. When we visited their offices in London they impressed us by their enthusiasm and commitment. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend their services.”
