Scaffolding is up and demolition is underway at Mill Lane in preparation for an extension to the historic cottage.
The original Georgian cottage has been extended multiple times during its long life. Its most recent addition is very much of it’s time, using current construction technology and high quality natural materials to maximise efficiency.
Already, the demolition work has thrown up an unexpected discovery of ‘clunch’ blocks, a vernacular building block made up of clay, straw and lime, found in eastern England and Normandy.
The main build programme is scheduled to begin in June.
