Studio Bark was approached by BBQ Lab to design and construct a frontage for their mobile food truck at Dinerama which is a day-to-night street food market at Shoreditch Yard. Reflecting the BBQ Lab brand of technical experimentation, Studio Bark adopted a laboratory aesthetic using copper piping and smoke. The copper piping breaks up the rigour of the plywood fin structure and is connects to a small wood burner. Therefore, it enables tendrils of smoke to curl outwards from the open ends, adding drama to the façade. Studio Bark designed the ‘smokescreen’ to be re-useable so that BBQ Lab could move it at the end of their tenancy at Dinerama.
