Studio Bark are delighted to announce that we have recently gained planning permission for the retrofit and extension of a stunning period family home in Tunbridge Wells.
Plans for deep retrofit include insulation added to the existing walls, triple glazed windows and the addition of an air source heat pump, along with a reconfiguration of the existing spaces. This will be complemented by a double storey @ubuild_uk extension to the rear. The project is focused on light, warm, well connected spaces that contribute to the tackling of the Climate Emergency.
Here are a few words from our client on their journey…
“From the outset, Studio Bark understood our needs, hopes, desires, and limitations, and from that created a concept that we love. The attention to detail throughout has been such that, even at pre application stage, the planners commented on the quality of the proposal. Having PP granted without any amendments to our plans further highlights how smooth the process has been.”
“We are excited to be driving the next chapter in our house’s history – for our family, and for those who will follow us. The change in floor plan will mean we can live as a connected family while still having our own spaces; the deep retrofit will mean we significantly improve the house’s performance, making it more comfortable year-round while also substantially reducing its environmental impact. That we are using the U-build system for the extension also means that we can get hands on with the build, and expend both literal and figurative blood, sweat, and tears on the project.
“We are most looking forward to having the project completed and reaping the enjoyment thereafter. For now though, just getting started and finally having a family bathroom that doesn’t leak will be a leap forwards.”
