The formwork is now on site.
Having scaled up the design from our 1:10 model Simon and Johnny from Anglian Formwork are almost ready to pour the Trombe wall. They will be using a 50% GGBS mix again and all the sawn board will be going into Natasha’s wood pile for her log gasification boiler.
Once the wall has been struck, the stair formwork will be tied and braced around the wall. The treads will be trowel finished, with a tiny bull-nose to prevent scuffing.
